When I reflect on the last month my mind is instantly swarmed. Its amazing how so many things can happen in one months time. Since a review is boring in paragraph form, im going to do this through bullet points and pictures because everyone loves pictures!:)
-December 24th. Christmas eve was spent with mom and dad, cam, braden, myself and Jessie Teslaa. Since my other siblings wouldn't be flying in until later in the week and Jessie has no family in OR, we invited him to take their place for the night:)
-after being delayed for 2 days Shmiddy and Em finally arrives Friday evening Dec. 27th. Abi, Weston and Evan arrived on the 28th!
-We spent new years eve after the services at John and Janes house with several other families from church and had a great time playing group games and snacking on a huge spread of goodies:) Joel flew into PDX in time to join us for the evening
-Jan.3rd we had our Mark Sinn Christmas. This was the first time the entire family had been together since Abi and Joels Wedding so it was very special!
-Jan. 4th. After a busy morning, a quick family photo shoot, and a meal at my uncle ben and aunt Carolyn Bolligers house, I had the opportunity to give my testimony before my Silverton church. It was SUCH a wonderful evening. I truly felt the nearness of the Holy Spirit and Gods arms wrapped around me:)
-Jan. 5th My Spiritual birthday. The old Tressa was buried and the NEW Tressa was risen!:) Praise God! All of my life I had looked forward to my baptism day, and it was more incredible than I ever imagines it to be. I am so immensely blessed! God is wonderful!! And my church family is so loving and kind, I feel as though I don't deserve it. Thanks be to God for his abundant blessings!
-Jan 6th. Abi, Joel, Wes, Brie, Shmiddy, Em and Evan left beautiful Oregon :(
-I ended up flying out Jan. 10th just in time to attend Kyla and Prestons wedding in Lester:)
- Before I left and in between family outings and celebrations I had a lot of quality friend time:)
-a coffee date with sara shurter
-A lunch date with wendi
-A dinner date with Maris, Lorraine, Brianna, and Kiersten to celebrate our one year of serving the Lord! ( we all repented in January 2013 within a few weeks of eachother)
- Dairy Queen ice cream with the YG after wed. night church
- Lunch with the chemeketa clan
-Ice skating with my YG girls:)
It was a wonderful Christmas break!:) Was it hard to leave? yes. It was so easy to get right back into the swing of things. Back into the Oregonness, and into the normalicy of home. The only thing that helped me through tearful goodbyes was A) knowing that in one week id get to see Cam and some other YG silverton ppl and B) knowing that I was more than 1/2 way done with this Iowan adventure
- MLK wknd I went to Princeville, illinois for the weekend. I stayed at Lynelle Berchtolds house and has a wonderful weekend getting to know new brothers and sisters in Christ and checking another church off my list of churches to visit:) The wknd was even more special than a normal yg wknd since my silverton people were there to share it with and to help suffice my home sickness
-The last 2 weeks have been shoved full of clinicals and getting into the routine of applying a whole semesters worth of info to real life. Its not going to be an easy semester that's for sure so prayers are greatly appreciated!
-The last part of my month in review ends with this wknd. Friday night Lanna, Nikki and I headed off to Mediapolis. We arrived around 1:30 AM. I spent all day on Saturday with Abi and Joel in Kalona, going through little amish stores, and in Iowa city doing Costco errands and then in the evening they invited a few friends over for pizza and games. It was a fun evening with lots of conversation and memories made. Whats a bummer though is that since this is the crazy unpredictable Midwest... a blizzard decided to form itself in northwest iowa...which is where I am currently temporarily residing. So.. in order to get back safely to spencer and lester, Lanna, Nikki and I had to leave at 5 AM this morning to beat the storm. Sad day. I hate missing church! :\ Thank full technology is amazing and ive had the privilege of listening in on Silvertons Service!
Hope your all caught up now! :)
