There is nothing more beautiful than watching Gods handiwork as he ends one season and begins another. As the snow has now melted and the temperature is slowly rising, it makes me extremely giddy for spring to come fully! Everyone here that ive talked to, or family back home who grew up in the Midwest , tell me that one day its going to hit. hard. and it will be hot before I know what hit me. Which im totally fine with:) Im ready to put the boots away and pull out the sandals!
Sitting here at my kitchen table, I cant help but grin at the calendar above me. 25 days have an X through them, marking 5 more days of March and then we are on to april. The last full month of school I will ever complete face to face! Where has time gone!? Its crazy, thinking back on this adventure that I started nearly 7 months ago, I thought id be in school forever. But here I am nearing the end, and im so so thankful to be where I am:) This adventure has given me so many wonderful new friends, and memories of adventurous roadtrips. Its helped me grow as a person as well as spiritually. God has taught me patience, trust and selflessness. Giving him the reigns and letting HIM guide me. 2 years ago I would have never thought id be where I am today. Giving Christ my heart and allowing him to be my best friend was the best decision I have ever made:)
Spring Break. Here and gone! It was probably one of the best spring breaks ive had in a long time:) Beginning with a hearty Birthday breakfast at Dennys a few hours after landing in PDX with dad, mom, cam and brady. Then spending the day in the sunshine working alongside Dad and Mom out in the sunshine, and getting completely surprised by my wonderful friends:) If theres anyone who can pull the wool over my eyes its my mother! Hah I was in nasty work clothes with wind blown hair when a caravan of cars pull into my driveway! Needless to say I was gone in a flash haha It was wonderful though:)
I always look forward to Sundays. They're my favorite days of the week. Honestly, what is better than getting all dressed up, and spending the majority of your day in the house of God? nothing:) Regardless of which state im in or the weather outside, they always make me happy:) Sunday evening was a potluck and singing put on by Jim and Deb Roth along with Uncle Lynn and Aunt Marylyn Kuenzi. No reason in particular other than to fellowship and draw closer to each other as a church family and to eat yummy food:)
The rest of my week was filled with several hours of baking with mom in preparation for church lunch in a few weekends, going out to lunches with my sisters in Christ and soakin up sunshine and family:)
Tuesday night was really special as Dad, Mom, Braden and I went to my great Uncle Ben and Aunt Carolyn Bolligers house for supper. Ben and Carolyn have been my other set of "grandparents" here in Oregon. Both of them are so jolly, talkative and loving. They are both true gems. It was a fun evening chatting about this and that, and growing together as a family. Braden and I had to take off early to practice a song we were learning along side Savannah and Arlen Stadeli for the kids up coming concert that Thursday. "and so it goes" by Billy Joel was the song. Thankfully the Alto part was easy as I had never sang the song before. The kids had all sang it in choir so they had an easier start than I did but it all came together beautifully:) It was really special to sing with Brady on stage since we barely missed going to HS, and being in choir together by a year. Its so weird to blink and see my little brother not so little anymore. In fact the kid is a whole head taller than me now! Time needs to slow down.
Friday night cam came home from school for the last time ever. Hes now a graduated man! Graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree to be exact. Im so incredibly proud of him! Its going to be so much fun to come home and have a full time converted brother in the house again:) I really have missed that. Brent and Lady had the Sinn cousins over for a game night that night so our celebrating waited till Saturday night when Dad and Mom took all of us out for steak. Yum! Apparently that's one of our graduation gifts from them, so now im even more excited to graduate! haha
On sunday I was only able to go to the first service as my plane was scheduled to fly out around 2 that afternoon. Regardless of the time cut short it was still enjoyable and a good way to end my break:)
So here I am half way through another week with only 5 1/2 weeks left! The remainder of my weekends are booked full, and my weeks are looking busy, and for that I am thankful. Im looking forward to meeting new brothers and sisters in Christ as well as spending more time with my friends here in Iowa:) This weekend Lord willing I will be in Morris Minnesota for provings and baptisms. So its already promised to be a rewarding weekend:)
Have a wonderful week! :D
