Friday Night October 25th had me driving to Jackson, Minnesota where i met up with Kendra Schmidgall, and Risa and Angie Fehr. Together we all drove to Mediapolis Iowa for the YG Invite wknd that the Yg there had planned. We didnt make it in until about 1 AM. but it was still fun chatting in the car keeping Kendra awake and getting to know Angie and Risa better:) That night i stayed with Erika Massner since it'd been literally forever since i had stayed at her. It seems like i only stay at Abi and Joels now when i go to Mepo which is totally fine cause i love them dearly:) but i feel bad not staying with my friends every now and then so it was good to have this time with Erika. God has blessed me with a wonderful friend. She is honestly one of the greatest people i know and i thoroughly enjoy spending time with her because I know i can comfortably be myself:) After a late night and lazy morning at the Massners, Erika dropped by off at Abi and Joels where i spent the afternoon with mom, abi, evan, joel, emily, my darling Brielle and sweet little weston. This whole auntie phase that i have forever entered is fabulous!:) ahhh cant get enough of my sweet snuggly babies:) And the greatest thing about being the Aunt is that after you've worn all the happiness and playfulness out of them, and once they get crabby, tired, or decide to mess their pants, *woosh!* off to their mothers they go! Hahahaha there are great perks to this role:)
Saturday evening to start off the invite wknd there was a dinner and singing in the Oakville/Mediapolis fellowship hall. This was my first official young group invite weekend actually since the last 2 ive been apart of were invite-a-friends. So this was all so very cool to me:) I absolutely LOVED how they sat us for dinner. When we arrived there were little bowels filled with slips of paper. each paper piece had a bible verse on it. So when they called out a verse, everyone who had that verse were seated at the same table. i thought it was a really creative way to mix everyone up:) Each young group event i go to adds a little fuel to the joy in my heart. I mean there were a ton of people there, all who love the lord with the same passion that i do and it was just a blast to meet so many people and make all sorts of new acquaintances. Im super excited to meet up with these people again throughout this young group journey and beyond!
Oh and what made the whole yg wknd even more fun was that i got to spend it with Evan!:D Ev flew up from Florida for the wknd to spend time with mom, abi, joel, and I and to meet weston. So after saturday evening was over Ev and I headed back to Abi and Joels for the night. Now imagine this... 7 adults...and 2 babies. One shower. One bathroom.. Now imagine all of them trying to get rdy for bed and then trying to get ready for church in an organized fashion. Yeah..it was quite the experience! so much hustle and bustle.
Ev and I spent Sunday morning at Mediapolis and then the YG went to Burlington for the afternoon service. Since i was going to be riding back with Lester YG I had no choice but to go to Burlington as well so.. after lunch...i had to say my goodbyes to mom, em , and ab in church. Which is no fun because I hate goodbyes and i especially hate them now that i am away. I cant wait to move back home and stay there for good! I hate saying bye to my parents. Its awful. The rest of the afternoon i did my best to keep my emotional composure. let me tell you..it was hard. I wont be seeing Abi and Em until Thanksgiving Lord willing if the weather cooperates. and I wont be seeing Mom and Ev until Christmas.*sigh* 6 weeks and counting...!
On the way back to Lester we numbered the drivers and then numbered off to decide who would go in what car. The car i rode in ended up being Lachelle Moser, Sherry, Jessica Moser, and Tyler Metzger. The poor brothers were outnumbered as there were 3 cars and only 3 of them! The conversations were quite random that was for sure but all in all a good time was had by all. Alot of laughter happened and it was rly fun getting to know each of them better:) What a wonderful family we have in Christ. Truly we are so so blessed! I say that a lot but it is so true. This brotherhood is so wonderful, loving, and kind. I cant imagine a life without the Lord and his family.

This week has been pretty relaxed, not a lot of homework...just a lot of getting prepared for the week ahead. Last night i had a speech in my Oral Comp. class that with the Lords help i nailed! such a great feeling! the speeches were suppose to be a process speech and since a surgical techs entire job requires a million different processes it wasn't too hard to chose one and just start talking.(shocking, Tressa talking??crazyness)
Last night as i sat at the table finishing the conclusion for my speech i heard rain pelting the roof. I seriously love this sound, its so relaxing. So as i sat there listening i began to hear a "drip....drip...drip" coming from my bedroom closet...only to find the leaky roof pouring water in.Awesome. For the last 2 months i have had skirts piled up in the living room chair because the roof leaks all over them. Its pretty frustrating since i have called the landlord about it and he was aware of it before we moved in even and still....nothings been done about it. All in due time i guess! Just another way the lord has used to keep my patience in check:)
As i conclude for the week i wanted to leave a little analogy with you all that was told during one of the car rides in regards to a calling to an unconverted person. It was told that God is like a telemarketer. The first time he calls us we pick up, find out who it is and slam the phone down. The second time he calls us we look at the caller ID and ignore it. as he continues to call us we tune it out. And soon the calls become less and less, and then finally we are taken off his call list.
WOW! is that not powerful or what!? I remember that time so clearly in my life and how thankful i am that God gave me the grace to pick up the call and stay on the line.
I truly believe that we will never be taken off the call list. God will continue to call. How thankful i am for this too that he didnt stop calling me!
Just thought that was a cool analogy to think about:)
May God bless each one of you through the remainder of this week and on into your weekend. All glory and honor be to him as he leads us through each day!:D
