I realize I haven't blogged in awhile but truth be told, ive been swamped. swamped with fun and swamped with not so fun (meaning homework). At the moment im sitting amongst boxes of clothes, books, kitchen utensils, and food. All of which are ready for moving day!:) the clock is ticking and 5 days now stares me in the face. Im biding this tiny apartment farewell(yay!!) and saying hello to my mothers wonderful meals! Im sick and tired of microwaved chicken breasts, tortillas, refried beans, rice, poached eggs, and carrot sticks. Whoever said college food was good...was dead wrong. In college ive now realized, you eat the bare basics. The plain, the bland and the cheap (as healthy as you can).
To recap the lasts of my journeys thus far let me start 2 weekends ago where I traveled with the morris Minnesota young group to Kansas City Missouri. 8 hours in a car that took us from bare brown land to green grasses and flowering trees. Ahhh what a glorious site! :) riding with a young group is always fun and full of adventure:) On the way there we sailed cool and clear...on the way back however...that's a different story :) We ran into a traffic jam. sat in traffic for a solid 20 minutes. Started our drive with sunshine, then encountered pounding rain, then hail...and whatta ya know, we ended the weather extremes with snow! To end it all we had an engine light come on...not sure which one...something to do with the oil...and spent roughly 30 minutes bonding at a caseys somewhere in South Dakota. Life...is never dull, and for that I am thankful! Random occurrences are what make the most memorable memories right!?!? Anyways so Kansas city was lovely. Tiny church with a tremendous heart! Loved the people there so much! I stayed at the Meyers with Lynelle Berchtold from Princeville, Angie Fehr from Morris, and Leah Beery from Rhittman. A lively group for sure! Sunday morning we could hardly get off the breakfast table to make it into church on time because the conversation was so great:) Conversations that are 100% about the power of God and the amazing works of Him, they cant be short!
Thursday after a remotely mellow week at school and clinical, I took off for Mepo and arrived in time for supper at Abi and Joels. Spent the night and the next day there and then caught a right with Reilly and Katie Wagenbach to Eureka for Good Friday services. It was crazy to see how much Brielle has grown in the last 2 months! The little squirt is walking and even saying a few words! Time... needs to slow down. Baby Schmiddy #2 is well on its way, making his/her Mommys tummy nice and round:) Cant wait for this little munchkin to enter this world, and meet his/her favorite Auntie! (That Abigail.. would be me) Saturday Em and I spent the day browsing shops in Eureka and Washington, enjoying some sisterly bonding time that was greatly overdue! Abi and Joel met us at Ev and Ems house and together we all drove to Fairbury for the Teubel Easter. I absolutely LOVE those people!:) Theyre so lively and such a blast to be around! I definitely wish I had more Teubel time:) It was so fun to be with the aunts and uncles and to celebrate with them the true meaning of easter while singing hymns of praises around the piano. Singing in big groups like that seriously warms my heart. Its so real, and sincere and moments that I cherish.
Id like to continue on and tell you about my wonderful easter and how great the church service was on sunday morning or sunday afternoon...but I cant. Because I wasn't at church. Instead... I was curled up in bed, with the flu, recovering from one of the worsts nights ive ever experienced. The rock that was in my stomach the night before decided it couldn't stay. and out it came every couple hours. TMI? Maybe, but it was awful. I thought I could make it to the afternoon service but once I got to church Abi went home feeling awful and I lasted 20 minutes in the balcony before I turned right back around and headed back home. SO ... our Easter was spent...in Ev and Ems living room, curled up on all the couches with blankets, bottles of TUMS, and 7-up. Happy Easter to us! It was a bummer to have spent it that way beings how all of us sisters were finally together again :\ but once again we made lasting memories because of it! haha
Sunday night I went back to Abi and Joels with Reilly and Katie and spent Monday on the couch with abi recovering from our bug and part of Tuesday as well before returning back to Spencer for the last and final time. Thank.The.Lord. Im so burnt out! Ready to be done with school. Home. Working. And Making money.
Today ended the last day of clinicals part 1. after 4 months I completed 241 hours and 128 surgical cases. Its crazy how fast it went but like one of my sisters reminded me the other day.. "Time is a vapor" and how right she is! It truly is. Looking back now on my journey this year I cant believe how fast it went. It really did vaporize before my eyes.
This weekend Lord Willing I will spent my time in Lester witnessing the Wedding of Drew and Lanna <3 Cant wait to see this couple finally tie the knot:) God is good!!!
