Today being 9/11 makes me thankful. Thankful that each day i can wake up with life and breath, and thankful that i have Jesus in my heart.
I AM THANKFUL FOR...
#1 I am thankful for the time i was blessed to have spent with Michael: Today is not only the anniversary of the terrorist attacks but it is also the birthday of my childhood best friend and neighbor that i lost last month. Michael died in a tragic camping accident about one week before i left for Iowa. Its hard to believe he is really gone. The one kid that i grew up with from diapers that wasn't a relative. Michael was that play mate that i always had. Mom babysat him when we were toddlers, his parents rented our ground so he would always be over helping out the workers. As Michael grew up he would go buzzing down the road on his quad, or id see him running past trying to "get back in shape" as he would tell me later. I was blessed to have completed 14 years of education with him in 5 different schools total. Every time we would switch schools we always switched together. This would have been the first year in our entire lives that we wouldn't have gone to school together. But jesus wanted michael home for his 20th birthday. Why? I wish i knew, but i look forward to seeing Mr. Michael again in heaven:)
#2 I am thankful for the call for repentance that is still alive today!: This past friday I was having a downer day. Missin home, missing my family, missing my friends... and then i received a wonderful text! Annie Kuenzi had started repenting! Ahh praise Jesus my day was made!:) Nothing makes me more happy than to receive the news that someone who ive been praying for since I was given the grace to answer my call, had answered their call! God is so good and he continues to put me in awwe every day over just how amazing he is. We are so blessed!!
#3I am thankful for the family of Christ: I sent one simple text to Vienna Lanz last week inviting her and her sister Kaylee to spent the weekend with me in spencer and without any hesitation they took me up on it! Seriously made my day. God has blessed me with so many wonderful friends in Oakville/ Mediapolis. Friday night they came up and after yg i met them at church and we headed over to spencer. By the time we got to my apartment it was at least 11:30, but whats time when your young?:) needless to say we didnt get to bed till around 3 and the next morning we were eating breakfast at 11. We filled our "day" by buckling our shoes and hitting the streets of spencer to explore all the little shops. Our day consisted of walking around spencer poking through all the little shops and filling our bellies with yummy mexican food before we headed back to my place to get rdy for yg. One of the things that im really enjoying out here is having so many churches (notice the "s" making it plural) nearby that i can easily drive to! The Lester yg was having a grain bin singing at Mogler farms so we made the 1.5 hr trek over to check it out. Id heard so much about these grain bin signings that i was a little more than excited to experience one myself:) And it.was.awesome. Regardless of the horrible muggy and hot weather i still was enthralled! The singing inside the bin sounded so amazing! It was a HUGE bin so when a song ended you could hear the singing for a solid 3 seconds if not more afterwards. What a cool way to praise the Lord!:D Ross and Abby Mogler then had a lunch call afterwards at their house. It was so good to see the Lester girls and catch up with the ones i knew:) such sweet girls! Then sunday morning, after coming back to my place after the lunch call sat. night , Vienna, Kaylee and I went to West Bend for church. I just absolutely LOVE my church family here in the Apostolic Church! After church we went to Kent and Beth Banwarts house for dinner. They were so kinda to invite me over, i appreciated it so much! And to top it off they sent me home with a plate of leftovers from dinner!:D To a dirt poor college student this is like the most wonderful gift ever! Haha All in all this weekend was great! God continues to bless me
