As i sit here writing this I have the Morton Apostolic Christian Church sermon from last sunday morning playing. I just find it absolutely awesome that we can have the word of the Lord at our fingertips. Its an encouragement to have a sermon always loaded and playing because there are so many! How blessed we are:)
This past week has been quite interesting. To begin with.. Last Thursday and Friday i had the awesome opportunity to do a 2 day OR observation in Burlington Iowa at the Great River Medical Center. It was such a learning experience! I felt like i learned so much in just those 2 short days! I was with an orthopedic team both days and oh my! When you hear the storied about power tools...they're true. and they are not gently by any means. Screws, drills, saws, you name it, i saw it all in action and i was totally enthralled! It is just so cool how far technology has came. It was a great experience, and i was so blessed to be assigned to an awesome team. They were so kind, so helpful and were so willing to help me learn and THAT...is how i hope i can be once in the working world.
Saturday afternoon Mom and I drove Dad to the airport. man...I hate goodbyes...It was so good to have both mom and dad here. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. You truly dont realize how much you love and appreciate your parents until you are away from them. I cant believe how much i took themfor granted whe i was living at home! After taking dad to the airport Mom and I went and filled out Costco fix:) I didnt realize how much i had missed that store! Such simple fun:)
That evening I spent a lovely evening in Mediapolis at the wedding singing of Stephanie Massner and Matthew Shultz. It doesnt matter what the occasion for a singing it, i can never get enough! Sitting in the front benches singing praises to the Lord gives the ultimate amount of joy in my heart. Its just so rewarding! Oh how i wish that everyone could experience the joys that come in serving our wonderful God :D
Afterwards there was a lunch call at Candace and Rachel Wagenbachs house. Food.Singing.Fellowship. And a good time was had by all. I didnt stay long, in fact after the singing was over i had to beat it home. Awaiting me was a 3 page essay regarding the experience that i had during my observations in the OR. Thank goodness I had written the whole thing out on the way up to the airport because just as i was half way done typing the thing, i somehow clicked the wrong button and *boop* my entire essay was gone. Now at 11:00PM, this is not ok. I had already deleted my entire notepad in my phone on accident earlier that day so you can only imagine my level of frustration. All i wanted was my bed. But the Lord gave me patience and i eventually completed the paper, even though i was just about fallin asleep.
Sunday was the wedding day of Matt and Stephanie! In the 9 weeks of being out her in the midwest it was the 3rd wedding i was able to attend. What a joy it is to see such happiness on the faces of two souls who were led by the Lord to each other and joined in holy matrimony. I truly wish them nothing but continuous happiness in their marriage:) Sunday was a fun day but a sad day because it ended my week and a half break from school and Spencer life. After one last round of kisses on little Westons face and hugs to mom abi and joel, i headed back to Spencer with Lanna Meyer. i'm SO thankful that she was able to ride back with me because that would have been a very miserable 5 1/2 hr drive. I was dreading Monday so incredibly bad.
Monday went like this. test.quiz.quiz.quiz.test. Welcome to midterms everyone. By the grace of the Lord I was able to get through it somehow... and then came Tuesday. Tuesday... well tuesday had a good beginning to it, i walked out to my car to find it covered in snow. Snow?..yes for some reason it snows here in October..not exactly sure why... and then Tuesday ended awkwardly. Thank the Lord its over!
So here i am this wednesday night October 23rd with another week behind me. Critter and I counted the days till we fly home for Christmas and the grand total is 55! At first it seemed like alot but then once we compared it to the 365 days that there are in a year...we decided that it really isnt that many beings how we've been here 61 days already. Time flies! and at this juncture in my life, im ok with that:)

As i looked back on this week I had to think "Without God this would have been a terrible week. There is no way i could have gotten through it sanely" But i did!!! Praised be to Jesus:) As my baptism day draws closer Its made me really reflect on my life this past year and what ive all gone through and how far i have come. Better yet..Ive came this far because of a Man who died for me. A man who bled for me, who cleansed my sins away with the blood in his body and truly that thought alone is humbling. How have i been so worthy of this gift? Im not worthy. But the love of the Lord is so enormous. How grateful I am that he gave me the grace to turn my heart to him exactly 9 months ago today and it is well with my soul.
